Bezpečnost práce v podniku
Bystřický, Ondřej
This dissertation is focused on the implementation of legislative requirements in the area of BOZP at the selected engineering company. The practical part analyzes assessment of the level and safety of health at work. Using the JBM method, risks are identified and evaluated at at the selected workplace, including measures to eliminate identified risks or reduce their effects. These steps together with the categorization of work, represent the basic pillars of health and safety in every company. Part of the thesis is the measurement of hygienic noise limits at the selected workplace. The measured values are statistically evaluated and compared with the limits specified in the relevant legislation.
Wood-processing industry in South Bohemia - variety of health risk assessment
SEDLÁČKOVÁ, Lucie
In my diploma thesis I deal with the issue of the working environment in the woodworking industry and the diversity of the associated risks, such as noise, dust, vibrations, chemicals, physical load and working position. This issue is current due to the rise of custom joinery. Demand also rises for the quality hard wood and its products, so part of my work deals with this issue as well. I find problematic the variability of the work environment related to measurable environmental parameters. The theoretical part will be based on literature and legislation related to this issue. The areas related to wood-processing operations will be detailed. This issue is handled mainly in relation to the hygiene of work and occupational medicine. Therefore the legislation and terminology, on which the practical part is based, devote a considerable part of the theoretical part. Three companies operating in Southern Bohemia were deliberately selected for research. The practical part is based on the measurement protocols of the individual working environment factors. I obtained the results using secondary analysis of data from measurement protocols of individual factors, professional literature, decrees, government regulations and laws. Two objectives and three research questions have been set for research. Objective 1: The work will identify risk factors for the work of woodworkers. Objective 2: The work will evaluate proposals for employers' precautions to protect the health of workers in individual woodworking plants. V1: Are there significant differences in the occurrence of risk factors in woodworking with regard to the way wood and its products are processed? V2: Are there significant differences in the precautions for the health protection in wood production according to the way of processing of wood and its products? V3: How does hardwood dust affect woodworking technology and health protection precautions? The first objective was chosen for the factual description of the working environment of individual companies, as the individual operations differ significantly from the occurring risk factors and their risk. The second objective was chosen with regard to the importance of properly chosen health protection precautions. Failure to comply with the employer's obligations linked to the protection of workers' health may result in serious and permanent damage to health. The importance of appropriately chosen precautions results from the final part of my work.
The health risks in working area of glass producing
VIKTOROVÁ, Jaroslava
The subject of the thesis is a company Stölzle Union Ltd., which is engaged in production of brown glass packaging for the pharmaceutical and food industry. The company was reconstructed and modernized after burning down in 2009. There are many risk factors in the industry, specifically thermal load, load noise, chemicals, dust and other. The risk factors of work environment can have a negative impact on health. For that reason, an employer has an obligation to respect law regulation and measures to protect health, resulting from generally applicable law. The theoretical part is focused on clarifying issues from health risk assessment, work categorization, preventive measures and risk factors to occupational diseases. The aim of the thesis was a determination and comparison of work environment factors before and after glassworks reconstruction, including assessment of proposals for measures to protect the workers' health in the glassworks work environment. To achieve the objectives of this work, I used these research questions: Which factors are present in the work environment in a glass production?, Are factors correctly classified?, Have there been changes in a risk assessment before and after the glassworks reconstruction?, What are the measures to protect the workers' health and are they currently being implemented?, I answered these questions in the end. The work environment factors were evaluated qualitatively. Secondary data analysis was used to achieve the objectives of the thesis, which draws from the study protocols from measurements of risk factors, study of literature, internal company documents, laws and decrees. The aim has been achieved. The factors before and after reconstruction of workplaces are summarized and compared in the practical part in clear tables. The measures to protect the workers' health are also included in the practical part, including proposals for improvement. It was found that factors occurring in the glassworks before and after burning down are typical for the glass industry. There have not been any significant changes in the incidence and risk assessment in the workplace after the glassworks reconstruction. Extensive modernization of the glassworks after burning down meant to expand production, but it was not found that risk factors of the work environment have been increased.
Health risk assessment of selected workplace factors in furniture manufacturing in various firms
SEDLÁČKOVÁ, Lucie
We encounter many risk factors in furniture production work environment. Presumed factors in my thesis were noise, dust, vibration, workload and working position. Any work might have impact on persons' health. That impact might be both positive and negative. That's why we have to deal with a protection of workers' health preventively. An integral part of this protection is hygienic supervision, for which employers must classify work processes into categories. In the theoretical part I focus on specification and detailed explanation of all of the concepts and topics connected to my thesis. I also focus on an assessment of health risks and diseases associated with them. One of the possible applications of my thesis is the use in practice. It should assist the employers evaluate their workings and I would like to familiarize them to all of the production risks. The goals of my work are to specify wood processing risks and evaluate proposals on measures to protect workers' health and assess their feasibility in practice. I tried to achieve my goals through research questions, which are: Which risk factors occur in furniture production work environment? Are those factors categorized correctly? Are protecting measures for employees´ health implemented? The thesis was realized as a quality research, especially due to only local conduction of the research and missing statistical data representativeness. The need of openness to the new research findings is a huge advantage. The thesis was developed with the help of the secondary data analysis, using a professional literature, laws, notices and protocols and apparent observation. The objectives of the thesis were fulfilled, risks of the furniture production work environment in selected firms were defined and protecting measures for workers' health were evaluated. It was determined that expected work environment factors are really occurring but with lesser frequency. In addition, two new factors appeared, namely, chemical substances and visual strain. It was also found out, that measures to protect workers' health were well-processed and realizable.
Health Hazard Assessment of Factors of Work-Related Conditions in Sugar Beet Processing Facility
KŮRA, Tomáš
The aim of the bachelor thesis was to evaluate the health risks of working conditions factors of certain facility. The other objective of this thesis was to propose preventive measures to protect health when working and to categorize individual works. In the case of sugar beet processing equipment there are two risk factors. The employees are affected by the risk factors of noise and psychological burden. Three research questions were established: 1. Which of the working environment factors dominates? 2. Do the risk operation activities predominate? 3. Is the level of working environment factors over limits? This thesis was prepared using qualitative research methodology, particularly secondary analysis of data which is based on the study of literature, legislation and vocational background to this issue. Also the observation methodology was used, concretely disinterested and obvious observation. In the theoretical part I focused on risk factors which occur in the sugar beet processing equipment and on the assessment of health risks. Then I focused on the technology of sugar production. In the practical part I assessed the health risks of selected work environment factors. The evaluation was carried out according to the procedures set out in Government Regulation No. 272/2011 Coll. and in Government Regulation No. 361/2007 Coll., as amended. I compared the measurement results with the health limits set out in Government Regulation No. 272/2011 Coll., which sets the safe limits for noise and vibration. After comparing with hygienic limits I ranked the individual professions in categories according to Decree No. 432/2003 Coll., as amended. Based on the practical part the above-mentioned research questions were answered. Noise is the dominant factor in the working environment in the sugar beet processing equipment. We mean the noise which is variable. Technological facilities are the source of noise. Risky works occur in the mentioned devices but do not predominate in the operation. The level of the noise factor in the work environment is above the limit for certain professions. These include the following professions: sugar beet equipment operation, roots lines operation, operation of washing machines, cutting machines operation, operation of centrifuges and brewer. The factor of psychological load was evaluated according to specified criteria. Given that this is a seasonal job in the winter, the positives outweigh the negative effects of mental stress factor. Currently, when the unemployment rate rises, people appraise for each job opportunity. This Bachelor's thesis can be used in practice to raise awareness of the health risks connected with working conditions influences in the sugar beet processing equipment. It can serve as a source of information for both employers and employees and also provide a basis for further research.
Type of employment as a risk factor for morbidity of persons 45 to 65 years old
ZDĚNOVCOVÁ, Iveta
The theme of the Bachelor thesis is ?Type of employment as a risk factor for morbidity of persons 45 to 65 years old?. The thesis is separated into two parts, the theoretical part and the practical part. The theoretical part includes findings about work-related medical science, categories of employments, risk-factors of the working conditions, and corresponding precautions and the legislative about this issue. Further included is categorization the employments into "lead workers," "sedentary employments," and "motion employments." This part is done by secondary analysis of the data from specialized literature, specialized web sites and legal regulations. The practical part is divided into 3 sub-parts. In the first part I used the statistical data from UZIS to track the most common causes of hospitalization and death in the southern Bohemia region in 2011. In the second part of the research I used the information from a staff physician of the researched company about the illness of the employees, which I processed statistically and evaluated. The hypothesis "laboring professions has higher morbidity" has been confirmed. The third part of the research was evaluated by quantitative research, questioning, and question form. I distributed 50 forms, from which 38 came back so the return rate is 76%. The form consisted of 14 questions and was distributed among the employees of the company ZVVZ GROUP a.s. from Milevsko. The form was at first divided to respondents working in motion and respondents having a sedentary employment. From the research a hypothesis was confirmed, that the employees working in motion have higher morbidity.
The Health Risk Assesment of Employees in ARPIDA Center.
KOLÁŘOVÁ, Michaela
The target of my work was Health risks evalution of employees in ARPIDA center. This facility provides care for the persons with physical and multiple disabilities. Employees were evaluated for the following professional groups: physical therapist, special educator, teaching assistant, personal assistant and rehabilitation pool lifeguard. For my research I have set the following research questions: ?What are the conditions for the categorization of works in connection with the operation of ARPIDA center??, ?Is the work of workers with direct contact with handicapped persons with endurable physical stress??, ?Are the factors at work of all employees ARPIDA center same and is the same as classifying these factors into categories?? The thesis was based on the application of a qualitative survey. The data collection method was used to interview with employees and then it was taged by secondary data analysis methodology compiling study of expert sources. Based on this research it was found that the factors do not work at all studied the same profession, the same is not their classification into categories. Some professions are burdened by excessive physical exertion. Lifeguard pool doesn´t expose to physical exertion, but his work activities affect climatic conditions and exposure to chemicals. Factors in a higher category than the first, can negatively affect the health of workers, especially physical load factor. For more specific evidence that physical stress factor could be in the category of the third, risk, I recommend to accredited or authorized measuring of physical activity in the profession a physiotherapist. This bachelor thesis can serve as a resource to increase awareness of employees who are professionally engaged in work with handicapped persons and may be the basis for further research in this field.
Health care for employees - the employer's obligations
PŘEDOTOVÁ, Eva
People were aware of the connection between the quality of the job done and the person performing the job as early as in the ancient times and in the times of ancient Egypt. In the course of centuries prevention was favoured over the treatment of an injury or illness. Nowadays the healthcare for employees is regulated by numerous international as well as national rules of law, the most important international one for the observed field being the International Labour Organization Convention No. 161 ? Occupation health services Convention. Upon this international convention ratified in Czechoslovakia in February 1989, many rules of law dealing with the health protection of employees at their workplaces are specified in our legal order, the significant being the Act 262/2006 Coll., Labour Code and newly also the Specific Healthcare Act 373/2011 Coll. The thesis aims to recapitulate the basic rule of law regarding the above-mentioned matter as well as finding out how these rules of law are adhered to and what the employees' awareness concerning their rights and obligations in the area of occupational healthcare is. The practical research of this thesis used qualitative dialogues with the representatives of 10 companies with different business planes. At the same time, a quantitative survey took place among the employees of the same companies. The results indicate that employers meet their obligations to their employees in the area of arranging occupational health services including regular medical checkups. Furthermore, employers try to respect the doctor's capability to work, despite the fact that this area is often quite problematic for them. The employees themselves are aware of their rights and obligations in the area of occupational health services.
Standardization of work and working conditions regarding to safety in selected company
KOČEROVÁ, Dana
The aim of this work is not only to be familiar with the history and current legislation relating to health and safety at work, but mainly with the application of legal standards in the specific conditions of the selected company with a focus on selected workplace. Occupational health and safety of workers in the performance of work tasks is one of the fundamental duty of every employer. This obligation arises mainly from the Labour Code, which imposes a number of duties and rights not only on the employers but also on the employees and trade unions. The main pillar of occupational health and safety at work is the searching and evaluation of risks at work - prevetion of risks at work. An integral part of this problem is the categorization of work, safety of technical equipments, personal protective equipment, work hygiene, occupational medicine. Equally important is the area of fire protection and ecology.
Risk assessment, prevention and health support at a workplace of a selected plant in the Olomouc administrative region
SVOBODOVÁ, Klára
The objective of this work was to assess the health risk of local muscular stress of the upper limbs associated with the operator's job at a workplace of a selected plant in the Olomouc administrative region and to propose adequate provisions. Three research questions were asked: (i) "Are the permitted levels, set as percent fractions of the maximum load, complied with in the operator's job?" (ii) "Are the hygiene limits regarding the numbers of movements complied with in the operator's job?" (iii) "Which preventive actions are suitable to counteract the risk of local muscular stress during machinery assembling work?" This research was conceived as qualitative investigation. The group examined comprised employees at the position of operator at a workplace of a selected plant in the Olomouc administrative region. The research work comprised data collection by using the method of direct, non-participating and overt observation, and study of professional literature, applicable legislation and test protocols and reports. I processed the results of measurement and compared them with the hygienic limits laid down by Government Decree No. 361/2007 Coll. (as amended). Based on the assessment of the data obtained, I classed the operator's job as Category 3 with respect to the local muscular stress factor examined, based on the criteria set by Regulation No. 432/2003 Coll. (as amended). Based on the risk assessment and categorization of labour I proposed appropriate preventive measures to mitigate the effect of local muscular stress during the operators' work. I set up a simple questionnaire asking for a subjective assessment of the locomotive system stress during work as a tool for a more comprehensive assessment of the operators' local muscular stress. Based on the research I formulated the following hypothesis: "In view of the increasing trend of incidence of occupational diseases of the limbs due to overload, and taking into account the appreciable social and economic impacts of such diseases, more attention should be devoted to a systematic search, assessment and evaluation of the local muscular stress factor risk during work."
